This notice explains what personal information Frosco collects through this website, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it short because we collect very little.
Who we are
This website is run by Frosco Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13910786), registered office Nile House, Nile Street, Brighton, East Sussex, United Kingdom, BN1 1HW. Frosco Ltd is the controller of the personal information described here.
You can contact us about anything in this notice at info@frosco.io.
What we collect
When you use the contact form, we receive:
your name
your email address
what best describes you (grower, partner, careers enquiry or other)
your message, and anything you choose to put in it
When you email us, we receive your email address and whatever your email contains.
When you visit any page, our hosting provider records technical information that every web server receives: your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use it only to keep the site running and secure.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, we do not build profiles of visitors, and we do not sell or share personal information for marketing.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
To answer your enquiry (a trial, a call, availability, a partnership or a job): our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, or, where you are asking about buying from us or working with us, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
To run and protect the website: our legitimate interest in keeping it available and secure.
To meet legal obligations, for example keeping business records.
If you send us a job application, we use it only to consider you for a role.
Cookies
This website does not set cookies for visitors, so there is no cookie banner. A single strictly necessary cookie is set only for Frosco staff who sign in to preview unpublished content.
Videos hosted on YouTube are not loaded until you press play. Once you do, the video is served by YouTube from its privacy-enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com) and Google’s privacy policy applies to that video.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who process personal information on our behalf, under contract and only on our instructions:
Vercel hosts the website (server logs). Privacy policy
Resend delivers contact form messages to our inbox. Privacy policy
DatoCMS stores and serves the website’s content, images and video. Privacy policy
Google Workspace hosts our inbox, where your message is kept. Privacy policy
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to professional advisers under a duty of confidentiality.
International transfers
Some of the companies that help us run this website are based in the United States, or use servers or subcontractors there, so your personal information may leave the UK. It stays protected to UK standards:
Vercel (hosting), Resend (contact form email) and Google (our inbox) are certified under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which the UK government recognises as giving adequate protection (the Data Protection (Adequacy) (United States of America) Regulations 2023). Our contracts with Vercel and Resend also include the UK’s International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses.
DatoCMS is based in Italy, which the UK recognises as giving adequate protection. To deliver images and video it uses providers in the United States, including Cloudflare, imgix and Mux, which are also certified under the UK Extension. When you view our pages, your browser connects to them and they receive your IP address.
For more detail about these safeguards, email info@frosco.io.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and our replies: up to 24 months after our last contact, unless they lead to a business relationship, in which case we keep them for as long as that relationship lasts and as the law requires after it.
Job applications: up to 6 months after the role is filled, unless you agree to us keeping them longer.
Hosting logs: for the short period set by our hosting provider, typically a few days to a month.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
ask us to correct it if it is wrong
ask us to delete it
ask us to restrict or stop using it
object to our use of it where we rely on legitimate interests
ask for it in a portable format, where that applies
To use any of these rights, email info@frosco.io. We will reply within one month. There is no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
This website is meant for growers and businesses and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
